Welding and Visual Examination Coordinator Course – Autumn 2022

The activity is aimed at deepening the theoretical knowledge and the application of the controls required by the ISO 3834 and EN 1090-1 standards, focused on the coordination of the welding activity for steel components, in accordance with the EN 14731 standard.

  • Rules relating to the qualification of procedures and welders

  • Management of the flow of information and records relating to welded joints in production
  • Validation of new procedures

COURSE FOR VISUAL EXAMINATION OF WELDINGS (EN 1090-2)

It is aimed at a staff of welding works and their inspection and who intends to fill the role of coordinator. The course is preparatory to training for the II level VT, and deals with the following topics:

  • Eye vision and visual perception
  • Environmental factors
  • The regulatory framework
  • Control according to EN 1090-2, par. 12.4
  • The visual inspection procedure according to ISO 17637 (which replaces EN 970)
  • The acceptability of the exam according to ISO 5817 (levels D, C, B, B +)
  • The gauges and visual tools to carry out the examination
  • Defects that can be found by visual inspection of welded joints
